its New York City, Westmont, NJ and Houston, TX laboratories as part of
the US Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) ELITE pilot proficiency test
program for Legionella.

“As part of a program to provide
Legionella testing for regional markets nationwide, we are expanding
our Legionella capabilities to additional EMSL Microbiology
laboratories. Next in the program will be our Atlanta GA, Indianapolis,
IN, and South Pasadena, CA Microbiology labs said Diane Miskowski, MPH,
Business Development Director.

“This type of proficiency
testing is extremely important in our industry. It is the first of its
kind in the United States to use known proficiency samples to
specifically grade laboratories for correctly identifying, quantifying,
and serotyping Legionella samples. We were very pleased to learn from
the CDC that we had two additional labs pass the proficiency test” she
explained.
